A young driver was killed late Monday afternoon after colliding with a heavy truck in Sainte-Martine, in the Montérégie region. The collision occurred around 4 p.m. on Route 138, also known as Saint-Jean-Baptiste Boulevard, according to Marc Tessier, a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec. According to initial reports, the vehicle veered out of its lane on a curve before colliding with the heavy truck travelling in the opposite direction. The truck then crashed into a house. The young man in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver and the sole occupant of the house were unharmed.
