Quebec rock duo Angine de Poitrine will be performing at Osheaga on Saturday, Aug. 1, the surprise performance announced on the festival’s Instagram page. They will be performing on the Rivière Bell stage from 4:50 p.m. to 5:40 p.m. Rumours had been circulating since Friday that the Saguenay-based duo might be performing in a surprise gig at Osheaga. The band’s name appears on merchandise available on-site at the festival, fuelling rumours. The 19th edition of Osheaga at Parc Jean-Drapeau runs this year from July 31 to Aug. 2. Canadian artist Tate McRae will be performing Saturday at Osheaga, along with Sombr, Turnstile, Empire of the Sun and Mt. Joy. Lorde, Gunna, Major Lazer, Clipse, Subtronics and Zara Larsson are among some of Sunday’s performers. On Friday, Twenty One Pilots, The xx, The Neighbourhood, Geese and Blood Orange performed. Weather forecast for Osheaga weekend Evelyne Côté is the director of programming, concerts and events at Evenko, the company behind some of Montreal’s largest festivals, including Osheaga, îleSoniq, Fuego Fuego and Lasso. She says the team spends the entire year scouting talent from around the world to bring to Osheaga. “We really pride ourselves in finding the acts that can really translate the energy on stage and really have that meeting with the fans,” said Côté. Clouds and showers are forecast throughout the Osheaga weekend. Côté said festival-goers are permitted to bring small, compact umbrellas or ponchos on-site in case of rain. “But as far as the rain goes, we have flooring everywhere, or fake grass, so the mud is not an issue,” Côté added.
