Four drivers have been charged with stunt driving after Waterloo Regional Police say they were caught travelling well above the posted speed limits during targeted enforcement Saturday. The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s (WRPS) road safety enforcement team conducted speed enforcement throughout the region. In Cambridge, officers stopped a driver travelling 107 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. Three drivers were stopped in Kitchener travelling 116 km/h, 105 km/h and 99 km/h in a 50 km/h zone, police said. All four drivers were charged with speeding and stunt driving. Police said each driver also received an immediate 30-day licence suspension and had their vehicle impounded for 14 days. WRPS said excessive speed puts drivers, passengers and other road users at risk. Police said motorists who endanger others on regional roads can expect continued enforcement.
