If you’ve ever had any ideas on what you would like to see in the Swartz Bay terminal now is the time to voice those opinions.

BC Ferries is embarking on an engagement process until the end of the summer to gather community input that will shape future plans for the terminal.

The company says it would like to hear from customers, residents and local communities as it starts to develop a new long-term vision for the terminal.

BC Ferries will engage with key stakeholder groups, followed by pop-up sessions at the terminal for customers to participate in. There will also be an online engagement portion beginning in late May.

“More than seven million passengers travel through the Swartz Bay terminal each year,” said Mark Wilson, BC Ferries’ vice president of strategy and community engagement. “The goal of creating this long-term plan will be to enhance the travel experience for our customers and help support growth in the region.”

BC Ferries expects the final Swartz Bay Terminal Development Plan to be ready later this year.

When it is, it will host additional information sessions at Swartz Bay, so customers and community members can see the plan.
