The list of charges against two men is long, but not nearly as long as the list of items Provincial Police claim to have seized during an investigation connected to them. Police say the investigation involved nine different search warrants. On Nov. 1, police executed search warrants in Vaughn’s Maple neighbourhood while simultaneously doing so in Fergus and Chatham, Ont. The next day, OPP executed more warrants in Bayfield and Peterborough. The list of items seized by OPP is extensive. Police claim two different kinds of handguns, two crossbows, a taser and BB guns were among the weapons seized. Police further allege more than three kilograms of cocaine, a pound of MDMA, oxycodone pills, lorazepam pills and crystal methamphetamine were on the list of drugs seized. More than $80,000 in cash, 12 gold bars valued at $66,000, a $30,000 watch, a $25,000 car, along with 29 cell phones, three cryptocurrency cold-storage wallets, gold coins and two laptops were also seized, police say. The two accused, a 41-year-old man from Maple and a 39-year-old from Fergus, are now facing several charges of possession relating to guns, drugs and property obtained by crime. The investigation began in June and according to OPP, it brought together several Street Crime Units from different detachments from across the province, including Collingwood, The Blue Mountains, Southern Georgian Bay and several others.
