A 23-year-old man from Waterville, N.S., has been charged with breaking and entering, mischief, and other offences related to property crimes. Kings District RCMP officers were investigating a reported motor vehicle collision on Highway 101 around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday near Coldbrook. There was no evidence of a crash at the scene. Officers later learned it was a phony report meant to divert police resources while the break and enter occurred at a commercial property on Opportunity Lane in town. Police received a report of the incident and responded. Upon arrival, officers say they found broken windows on the building and learned a man had been seen there. A man who reportedly matched the description was found and arrested. Jessie Miller-Dixon has been charged with: “Investigators also identified the same man as being involved in two additional incidents at commercial properties in the Coldbrook Village Park Dr. area in which buildings and vehicles were damaged,” reads a news release from RCMP on Thursday. The incidents occurred overnight between Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Miller-Dixon appeared in Kentville provincial court on Monday and was released on conditions pending future court appearances. Police say the investigation is ongoing. For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
