Barrie police say a car was left on its side after a collision on Thursday morning. The collision, which involved only one vehicle, happened sometime before 11:40 a.m. The car, according to police, hit a pole at the intersection of Mapleview Drive West and Essa Road. Miraculously, the driver was uninjured, police say. Photos of the incident later shared by police show the vehicle on its side with fire crews on scene. Mapleview Drive west is closed to eastbound traffic at Twiss Drive as cleanup is underway, police say. An exact cause of the collision is under investigation.
