Two Maritime ferries are being impacted by high winds Saturday. Afternoon crossings between Wood Islands, P.E.I., and Caribou, N.S., have been cancelled due to winds speeds in the Northumberland Strait. This includes the 1:30 and 3:15 p.m. departures. Northumberland Ferries Limited said it will update the status of the 5 and 6:30 p.m. departures no later than 3 p.m. Saturday. The CAT sailings between Yarmouth, N.S., and Bar Harbor, Maine have also been cancelled. The ferry was scheduled to leave Yarmouth at 9:30 a.m. and depart Bar Harbor at 3 p.m. Confederation Bridge Earlier, the Confederation Bridge had restricted certain vehicles due to high winds. This impacted vehicles towing trailers, motorcycles, high sided vehicles including trucks, tractor trailers, recreational vehicles and buses. As of 12 p.m., winds were forecasted from the northwest at 66 km/h with gusts reported at 80 km/h. The bridge reopened to all traffic just before 1 p.m.
