The new cable ferry serving the Buckley Bay to Denman Island route left North Vancouver for its new home last night.
The Baynes Sound Connector is nearly 80 metres long and can carry 50 vehicles and 150 passengers and crew.
BC Ferries says it was scheduled to leave Seaspan's Vancouver Shipyards and travel 10 hours up the Salish Sea.
It arrived in Buckley Bay at around 9:30 a.m.
The ferry service says the vessel is expected to begin service this fall after it is certified by Transport Canada and crew members are trained.
