Nanaimo RCMP are investigating an apparent scuffle between a group of students and two parents in a Subway parking lot.

Mounties were called to the Subway on Departure Bay Road around 12:30 p.m. Thursday after the altercation broke out.

When officers arrived they learned the parents, a husband and wife, had gone to Subway looking for their son.

A “heated conversation” took place between the parents and a group of kids inside the restaurant, and all were asked to leave.

That’s when they went into the parking lot where the altercation took place, according to Mounties.

Nanaimo RCMP school liaison officers are investigating the incident along with School District 68 officials.
