Drivers can expect delays in View Royal starting Monday as construction gets underway at a major intersection.
The town will be replacing the southern traffic island at the intersection of Helmcken Road and Burnside Road West, as well as repairing the pavement.
Hours of construction will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Monday until Friday, August 12.
Town officials say the designated right turn lane from Helmcken Road northbound to Burnside Road West eastbound will be closed to traffic during these hours.
They are advising drivers to prepare an alternative route, such as via Interurban Road.
Traffic control workers will be on site to assist pedestrians and cyclists.
