Another day, another snowfall for parts of Vancouver Island.

The wintry precipitation made it a slippery drive on the Malahat Highway early Monday morning, while further north, schools closed for the day.

The Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District and Southern Gulf Islands School District shut down all schools because of hazardous road conditions.

Vancouver Island University’s Nanaimo campus also closed due to snow.

In parts of Victoria, snow mixed with rain to create slushy conditions on area roads.

Saanich police reported a two-vehicle crash on Old West Saanich Road at Linnet Lane, resulting in a partial lane closure.

It’s unclear whether it was related to the slippery conditions.

Delays were expected on BC Transit bus routes and Harbour Air flights, and some flights at Victoria International Airport were cancelled or delayed.
