North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP say no foul play is suspected after a body was found near the shore in Maple Bay.
Mounties say they were called to investigate a “suspicious occurrence” just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
A man told police he found a number of personal items while walking on the dock near Arbutus Avenue. He tried to find the owner of the items, but was unsuccessful and called police.
Police say the person who the items belonged to was found dead near the shore.
The BC Coroners Service is investigating.
