The Winnipeg Police Service is asking for the public’s help to identify a man who died last month. According to police, an unresponsive man was found at the corner of Main Street and James Avenue at 7 p.m. on July 28. He was taken to the Health Sciences Centre, where he died the next day. Police believe foul play is not a factor in his death. Police, the chief medical examiner’s office and the Manitoba Integrated Missing Persons Coordination Centre have tried to identify the man; however, his identity remains unknown. A composite sketch was released on Friday to help raise awareness in hopes of identifying the man, police said. The man was in his 40s to 60s and was five-foot-seven with a thin build. He had recently shaved dark hair, a thin moustache and brown eyes. He was wearing light-coloured Levi’s blue jeans, a grey t-shirt, black steel-toed boots and an orange and white striped belt. The man had a scar above his left eye approximately 0.5 inches in length and a scar under the right side of his ribcage between one and two inches long. He also had an older, faded tattoo on his right hand of the letters “MK.” Anyone with information on the man’s identity is asked to call the Manitoba Integrated Missing Persons Coordination Centre at 204-986-6250.
