If you’ve noticed a slight fall feel in the air over the last few days and wondered if that was a wrap on summertime heat, it’s not. Temperatures are noticeably warmer Wednesday, with seasonal daytime highs in the mid-20s expected in Winnipeg, Brandon, and most of southern Manitoba. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) said the focus of thunderstorm development is in western Manitoba, although no severe weather is anticipated. There is a low chance of showers popping up late this afternoon or early evening in Winnipeg and the Red River Valley. No thunderstorms are expected. Wednesday brings a role reversal across northern Manitoba. After rain and showers across the northeast on Tuesday, sunshine has returned Wednesday. Meanwhile, the skies are cloudy in the northwest around Flin Flon and The Pas Wednesday, after a sunny day on Tuesday. Overall, it will be a mostly sunny day over northwestern Ontario, with afternoon temperatures reaching the low 20s. Cloudy conditions will continue in Winnipeg tonight and on Thursday.
