After tornadoes on Tuesday, and more tornado-warned storms on Wednesday, thunderstorms can’t be ruled out on Thursday in southern Manitoba. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) said pair of lows over southeastern Saskatchewan and southern Manitoba will drift slowly eastward on Thursday. As the lows encounter atmospheric instability still sitting over Manitoba, they will combine to produce showers and thunderstorms over the province. However, the weather agency said no severe weather is anticipated Thursday. This comes after tornado-warned storms crossed parts of the Pembina Valley and Red River Valley on Wednesday evening. ECCC said there were no reports of tornadoes. On Tuesday, three tornadoes were confirmed by ECCC—one east of Manitou and a pair near Carman. No damage was reported. The weather agency said it was investigating reports of a fourth tornado near Dauphin on Tuesday but has not confirmed it happened. Otherwise, most of southern Manitoba, including Winnipeg and Brandon, will see a mix of sun and cloud with a low chance of showers on Thursday. Daytime highs will reach the low 20s. The chance of showers is higher in southeastern Manitoba closer to the provincial border and in northwestern Ontario, where highs will also reach the low 20s. Much of northern Manitoba will enjoy sunshine on Thursday, while central areas could see showers. The northernmost regions, including Churchill and Tadoule Lake, will enjoy the warmest temperatures, with forecast highs in the low 20s. Back in the south, daytime highs on Friday will remain in the low 20s before catapulting into the low 30s throughout the weekend.
