Victoria Mayor Lisa Helps is expected to announce Monday whether she'll be running for re-election in the 2018 municipal election.
Helps said she'd be holding the announcement in her office on Jan. 1 at 1 p.m. regarding her intentions for the year ahead.
Helps, then a councillor, defeated two-term Mayor Dean Fortin by a slim margin of just 89 votes during the 2014 municipal election.
She has not hinted whether she might run again in the upcoming election or bow out.
The next local government elections are scheduled to be held across B.C. on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018.
