A young woman died in a single-vehicle crash in Kamloops, B.C., Saturday evening. First responders were called to the scene in the 7000 block of Westsyde Road around 6 p.m., after receiving a crash alert from a cell phone, the RCMP said in a statement. “Kamloops Fire and Rescue attended to find a vehicle had gone off the roadway and struck a tree, the vehicle was fully engulfed at the time of the crews’ arrival,” the statement form the Kamloops detachment said. “The driver, a 22-year-old Kamloops woman, did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene.
