Surrey police say a man was hospitalized after a targeted shooting in the city’s Whalley neighbourhood on Friday night. According to the Surrey Police Service, officers were called to a home near 88 Avenue and 127 Street at around 11:44 p.m. with reports of a shooting. Police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, but the shooter had left the scene. B.C. Emergency Health Services transported the victim to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The SPS says the shooting is believed to be targeted but not extortion-related. Police say an investigation is ongoing, led by the SPS’s major crime section.
