Police say two suspects remain at large after a shots fired incident in South Surrey Thursday evening. Officers were called to a housing complex in the 100 block of 175A Street around 6:50 p.m., according to the Surrey Police Service. Police say they found a person believed to be the intended target at the scene, uninjured. The two suspects, described as men in dark clothing, reportedly fled on foot. They were not found despite officers and police dogs searching the area, the SPS said. The department said officers would remain in the area through the night and possibly into Friday morning to speak to witnesses and search for evidence. “There is no indication at this early stage that the incident is extortion related, but it is believed that this was a targeted incident,” the SPS wrote in a statement. Anyone with information or video is asked to call the SPS at 604-599-0502 and reference file number 26-108223 or provide an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
