A woman robbed a bank in Richmond last month, threatening an employee and making off with the cash on public transit, according to police. Richmond RCMP said the woman approached the teller of a Vancity bank on No. 3 Road, near Richmond-Brighouse Station, on June 17. She then demanded money and made threats by passing a note to the teller before taking the money and leaving the area, police said. “Incidents involving threats toward employees are taken very seriously,” Const. Scott Lee said, in a statement. Richmond RCMP have released a photo of the suspect and describe her as a dark-skinned, 5’ tall, 40-to-50-year-old woman. At the time, she was wearing a grey baseball cap, black hooded jacket, black leggings, and black running shoes, while carrying a green reusable shopping bag. “We are asking anyone who recognizes this individual or has information about her identity to come forward,” Lee added. Anyone who recognizes the woman or has any information related to the robbery has been asked to call Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file number 2026-19008.
