Two B.C. companies have restored a rare bread delivery truck that will be auctioned off at the world’s biggest collector car auction in Las Vegas.
White and Peters Ltd. collaborated with Canada’s largest custom car shop 360 Fabrication Inc. to produce the unique 1950s collectors truck.
“It’s a 60-year-old collector’s item that is bound to capture a lot of attention at our show this year,” said Rick Francoeur, owner of 360 Fabrication Inc.
The vehicle is in such great shape it’s been valued at $248,000.
“It really was all the guys at 360 who made this vehicle look so amazing,” said Mort Hall, general manager of White and Peters Ltd. “I let them have complete control over the designs and execution and they did an absolutely phenomenal job.”
The truck’s first stop will be the third annual Ultimate Car Show in Vancouver.
Following the show, the delivery truck will head to Las Vegas for the Barrett Jackson collector car auction in October.
All proceeds from the bread truck will go to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
“The Shriners hospitals touch everybody in Canada and the U.S. More importantly the money will go to help better the lives of children,” Hall added. “This truck is an incredibly unique piece and I really think it will fair well at the auction.”
Hundreds of vehicles will be featured at the car show, which will take place at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver parking lot on July 23.
