Police say a woman wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old man in Niagara Falls last month has been arrested in Montreal. In a news release, Niagara police confirmed that 30-year-old Josta MacNeal was arrested in Montreal on Thursday in connection with the murder of 35-year-old Mitchell Snoddon. She faces one count of second-degree murder. Police have been searching for MacNeal and another suspect, identified as 23-year-old Maroof Bangi, for several weeks since the homicide. Niagara Regional Police Service said they were called to the area of Thorold Stone Road, near Dorchester Road, at around 8:50 p.m. on July 16 for reports that a male had been shot at a residence. Police said it was later determined that two suspects showed up at the home with a handgun and shot Snoddon. The victim was rushed to hospital but did not survive. Police subsequently release video surveillance of the two suspects, who were seen at various locations throughout Ontario and Quebec. Investigators warned the two “may take steps to alter their appearance in order to avoid detection.” Investigators said they have not yet been able to locate Bangi. “As no firearm has been recovered in connection with this incident, Bangi is considered armed and dangerous. If Bangi is observed, do not approach and call 911 immediately,” they said in the news release. Police are urging the suspect to contact a lawyer and turn himself in.
