Vancouver police said a targeted shooting took place in the Spanish Banks beach parking lot at around 4:50 p.m. on Saturday. The Vancouver Police Department said witnesses saw two masked men “shoot at an occupied parked vehicle.” One suspect was arrested, and another remains at large, police said. “Investigators have since recovered the vehicle that was shot into; however, no victims have been located or identified at this time,” the VPD stated. Video obtained by CTV News shows several police vehicles parked in a taped-off area near Fraser Street and E 50th Avenue, one of which collided with a dark blue Honda CRV SUV. A fuel can spout is visible behind the SUV’s front passenger seat. “At this time, this appears to be a targeted, isolated event, and there is no perceived ongoing threat to the general public,” Const. Darren Wong said, in a release. The VPD has appealed to the public for information and asked anyone who saw the shooting or has dash camera video from the Spanish Banks area on Saturday afternoon to contact investigators at 604-717-2500.
