Dairy Queen’s 24th annual Miracle Treat Day is Aug. 13, with net proceeds from all blizzards sold at Dairy Queen locations across the province going towards Saskatoon’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH) Foundation. In a media release, the foundation says funds raised “help provide life-saving equipment, innovative research, and vital programming at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital and throughout the province for pediatric and maternal patients.” In the previous 23 years Dairy Queen has donated over $58M to children’s hospitals in Canada through the Children’s Miracle Network. JPCH is the only Saskatchewan member. $282,000 was raised last year in Saskatchewan, with funds supporting 83,000 kids and moms-to-be from 644 communities. “When you treat your employees, your family or yourself to a Blizzard® Treat at Dairy Queen on Miracle Treat Day, your support helps children and families stay in our province to receive the critical care they require," said Jada Kook, community engagement manager at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation (JPCH). Dairy Queen is also accepting donations on Miracle Treat Day, with all contributions going directly towards JPCH. Funds will be used for life-saving equipment, innovative research, and programming for pediatric and maternal patients. A total of $2.35M was raised during last year’s Miracle Treat Day, supporting 13 children’s hospitals across Canada.
