A person was rescued after becoming trapped in the grating of a large drainage pipe at Silverwood Dog Park on Friday evening. Shortly before 8 p.m., fire crews were called to the scene after receiving a report of a person caught in the pipe’s grating. When crews arrived, they found a male trapped in the drainage structure. Two rescue trucks were dispatched to help with the extrication. Firefighters set up rope systems and cut the grating to free the person. The individual was then harnessed, secured and lifted to safety. The person was turned over to Medavie for medical treatment.
