Prince’s Island Park will be swaying to the swing of a Latin beat this weekend as Expo Latino takes over the site. Friday, vendors were setting up for the festival, which features food, crafts and music. It’s the 30th year for Western Canada’s largest Latino festival. As many as 50,000 people are expected to attend. There will be plenty of music on the main stage, with the chance for people to dance -- and even take lessons. Organizers say artists are coming from far and wide to share their love for Latino culture. “Calgary is growing in the Latino community a lot. Every year we grow by – I’d say – two per cent. Just bringing these community events and festivals in the city, I feel it makes the city alive,” said Expo Latino spokesperson Daniel Manzano. Expo Latino runs until Sunday night.
