A Yorkton teenager charged with terrorism-related offences in connection to a violent online group will appear in court later this month. The accused, who cannot be identified in keeping with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged in late September with participation in an activity of a terrorist group, facilitating terrorist activity and two counts of commissioning an offence for a terrorist group. The charges stem from what the RCMP Federal Policing Northwest Region’s Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) identified as a series of videos connected to the group “764.” The group was classified as a terrorist entity in December 2025. RCMP describes it as a “transnational online ecosystem of violent online predators who coerce youth to participate in acts involving child sexual abuse and exploitation, self-harm, and the torture of animals.” The probe that led to the arrest of the 18-year-old from Yorkton began with an investigation into a Telegram user who allegedly posted a series of videos depicting real-world activities as a 764 member. Police also say elements of the network are known to have “extreme ideological views and are victimizing children through desensitizing and radicalizing them to violence.” Canada is the first country to list 764 as a terrorist entity, according to the federal government. The accused is set to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on Oct. 23.
