The stage is set for a rare SJHL playoff matchup, with the Yorkton Terriers and the Flin Flon Bombers set to battle for the Canterra Seeds Cup. For the Terriers, it’s their first trip to the final in 12 years, when they won the Junior A national championship. The Bombers, meanwhile, are in their fourth final in five seasons, having lost each of their last three appearances, and have not won a league title since 1993. Despite both teams’ long histories, the last time they faced each other in the playoffs was in 1989. The Bombers enter the series with the edge in the season matchup, winning three of four games against the Terriers, including both contests on home ice. Yorkton, however, has been the most explosive offensive team in the postseason, scoring 46 goals in 13 games. Defencemen Gavin Bertha and Thomas Ries have led the charge with eight and seven goals respectively. Flin Flon has relied on a strong defensive performance throughout the playoffs, allowing fewer than two goals per game. Game 1 begins at 6:30 p.m. The game is available to watch on SaskTel Max or through a FloHockey subscription.
