The public paid their respects as West Shore RCMP escorted the body of Const. Sarah Beckett in a motorcade Thursday afternoon.
The force was accompanied by police members, paramedics and fire crews from across the South Island.

The motorcade left Victoria General Hospital at 11:30 a.m. and drove along Watkiss Way, Helmcken Road, Wilkinson Road, Royal Oak Drive and onto the Pat Bay Highway.
It then took the McTavish exit onto Canora Road and end at the Shell Aerocentre near the main Victoria Airport control tower.

The body is being flown out to Vernon as part of the investigation.
Beckett, 32, was fatally injured after a collision with a pickup truck in Langford early Tuesday morning.
She leaves behind a husband, mother, sister and two young children.
A GoFundMe page set up to raise money for her family had received nearly $70,000 in donations as of Thursday morning.
