A pot dispensary in Langford that RCMP shut down just one day after it opened in January is welcoming customers once again.

Green Tree Medical Dispensary on Granderson Road reopened on Monday despite being raided by Mounties one month earlier.

At the time, Langford Mayor Stew Young said the shop had no business licence or application.

On Monday, a Green Tree employee said police had already visited the dispensary over the weekend and said they would return.

The employee also said the dispensary has tried in the past to apply for a business licence from the city but was refused.

Young has also publicly stated that he has no plans to allow dispensaries in his community until federal regulations are in place for the legalization of marijuana.

The dispensary is just around the corner from the West Shore RCMP detachment.

A City of Langford stop work order had already been placed on the dispensary's front door late Monday morning, informing the business it was in contravention of bylaws.
