Victoria police are urging residents in James Bay to be cautious after a cougar was seen in the area Thursday morning.

VicPD says they received a report of a cougar being spotted on Menzies Street just after 7 a.m.

Officers were unable to locate the animal, but say it “doesn’t mean that it was unfounded.”

Anyone who sees the cougar is asked to call Victoria police at 250-995-7654.
