The CHEO Dream of a Lifetime Lottery kicks off today, with the grand prize a 5,340 sq. ft. home in Kanata. The CHEO Foundation will unveil the Minto Dream Home for CHEO this morning, launching the annual lottery to support patient care at Ottawa’s children’s hospital. The grand prize features over $3.6 million in prizes, including the Minto Dream Home on Vibert Douglas Drive in Kanata, $100,000 cash, a 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300, $5,000 gift card from W.O. Stinson & Son Ltd., ATC Cleaning for one year, and a $5,000 gift card to Farm Boy. Minto says the Dream Home for CHEO is called the Beaumont, which includes elevator access to all three floors, a private fitness centre and a double-height solarium. According to the CHEO Dream of a Lifetime Lottery website, the basement includes a 1902s speakeasy-inspired space with a fully equipped bar, games table, cozy lounge, a state-of-the-art theatre room, and a fitness centre. The second floor of the home has a loft living space with unobstructed views of the pond, while the primary bedroom has an ensuite with his-and-hers vanities and a makeup counter. Other prizes in the CHEO Dream of a Lifetime Lottery includes Dream Cars, $100,000 cash, and dream vacations. The Early Bird Prize is $250,000 cash. “Alongside a stunning, custom-built Minto Dream Home, we’re giving away over $5.3 million in prizes, our biggest year yet,” the CHEO Foundation said. “Thousands of ticket buyers will celebrate as we give away cars, vacations, gift cards, bonus tickets, and cash.” Tickets cost $100 for one ticket, while 3 Dream of a Lifetime Lottery tickets and 15 tickets for the 50/50 draw cost $300. The deadline to purchase a ticket in the CHEO Dream of a Lifetime Lottery is Friday, Dec. 18. The draw is Jan. 6. The annual CHEO Dream of a Lifetime Lottery raises money to support patient care and research at CHEO, the CHEO Research Institute and Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice.
