Toronto police have identified the 17-year-old boy who was shot and killed in North York Monday afternoon. Emergency crews were called to the scene near Jane Street and Finch Avenue West just after 3:30 p.m. for reports of shots fired. When they arrived at the scene, they located a male victim who had been shot. Life-saving measures were performed at the scene, and the victim was rushed to hospital. He died there a short time later, police said. The victim has been identified as Cashie Auguste. He’s the city’s 24th homicide victim of 2026. No suspect information has been released. Police have not said what may have motivated the shooting.
