A Vancouver Island man charged in the deaths of his two young daughters made another brief appearance in court via video today.

Andrew Berry was ordered to return to court March 29 for a focus hearing with the judge about timing for a preliminary hearing that will determine if there's enough evidence to send the case to trial.

Berry was charged with two counts of second-degree murder after his six-year-old daughter Chloe and her four-year-old sister Aubrey were found dead in an Oak Bay apartment on Christmas Day.

Police have said they were called to the residence by the mother of the girls after they were not returned to her as scheduled.
