An 82-year-old has been charged with attempted murder related to an incident Monday at Terry Fox Place in Sault Ste. Marie. Police were alerted by a 911 call that came in at 8:40 a.m. reporting that someone was yelling for help inside an apartment. “Upon arrival to the unit, officers located two injured people,” police said in a news release Sept. 22. “One victim had sustained life-threatening physical injuries and the other person, identified as the accused, had serious physical injuries. Both people were transported to hospital.” It emerged that one suspect seriously injured the victim, then seriously injured themselves. “The victim and accused are known to one another,” police said. The accused has been charged with attempted murder and is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
