Ontario Provincial Police say investigators have identified the remains of a 61-year-old Kirkland Lake man who was discovered in an unoccupied building on Aug. 20 following an autopsy. Police, fire and emergency services responded to the report of human remains on Government Road in Kirkland Lake earlier this month. “An autopsy identified the remains as 61-year-old Gregory Vachon of Kirkland Lake,” OPP said in a news release Aug. 27. “At this time, there is no evidence of foul play or any broader threat to the public.” Police said the investigation remains ongoing. Investigators ask anyone with information about the death to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
