A golf course clubhouse near Bayfield was destroyed in a fire Wednesday evening. Huron County OPP said emergency crews responded to Bluewater Golf Course Highway 21 at Bayfield Road shortly after 8 p.m. on Aug. 26. Police, firefighters from the Bluewater Fire Department and Huron County paramedics attended the scene. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, and no injuries were reported. OPP told CTV News, the clubhouse at Bluewater Golf Course sustained a total loss as a result of the fire and initial indicates that the fire started in the area of the electric golf carts near the building. The scene remains under investigation. The Office of the Fire Marshal is expected to attend to determine the official cause of the fire. Bluewater Highway and Bayfield Road were temporarily closed while emergency crews responded, but both roads have since reopened.
