Greater Sudbury police say two men from southern Ontario have been charged with targeting youth online following an investigation that began in March. The police internet child exploitation unit began a joint undercover online investigation seven months ago targeting individuals who were using the internet to lure children for a sexual purpose, police said in a release Oct. 29. “As a result of the investigation, detectives identified and arrested two individuals from Southern Ontario,” police said. With help from police in Waterloo, a 66-year-old man was arrested Sept. 15. He was charged with two counts of luring a person under the age of 16 and remains in custody. Peel Regional Police executed a search warrant Tuesday in Hanover where officers seized several devices. A 52-year-old man was charged with two counts of luring a person under the age of 16 and making sexually explicit material available to a child. Investigators said they believe the man used the social media account @Hiltonhaven and the email address hiltpaul50@gmail.com while communicating with and attempting to lure youth online. The man has been released after attending bail court Tuesday. Police ask anyone with information related to either individual to contact their local police service.
