Police are searching a storm pond in northeast Calgary Saturday after receiving reports of suspicious activity in the area. Police said that around 1:30 p.m. Friday, they responded to reports of a disturbance and suspicious vehicle in the vicinity of the 500 block of Saddlecreek Way N.E. They say they located the vehicle, at which point a number of people ran away. Police say a witness saw one of the people throw something into a nearby storm pond. Officers and volunteers from Calgary Search and Rescue Association will search the pond and general area Saturday morning. The public will still have access to the surrounding park space while the search is underway.
