A stretch of Highway 144 is closed in both directions Monday evening following a single-vehicle crash that sent one person to hospital with “serious” injuries. Ontario Provincial Police say the crash occurred at Onaping Lake Road in the Greater Sudbury area. “One individual was transported to hospital with serious injuries,” OPP said in a social media post shortly before 5:30 p.m. Authorities are advising motorists to avoid the area. Closure stretches between Cartier and Gogama According to Ontario 511, the closure affects both directions of Highway 144 between Cartier East Entrance in Cartier and Secondary Highway 560 in Gogama. All lanes are closed as a result of the collision. Few details Authorities have not released the cause of the crash or stated if any charges are pending.
