A two-vehicle crash Sunday morning in the French River area sent two people to hospital after a moose was struck on Highway 64. “The collision occurred just before 8:30 a.m. after a passenger vehicle struck a moose on the highway and was subsequently struck from behind by a pickup truck,” Nipissing West Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Sept. 28. “The driver of the passenger vehicle sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries.” Police said Highway 64 was closed for just under five hours as officers examined the scene.
