Officers with the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service were busy Canada Day clamping down on drug trafficking into Constance Lake First Nation. A 28-year-old Constance Lake FN man was charged with possession of cocaine and fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, police said in a news release July 2 “Members of the Intelligence Unit executed multiple search warrants targeting a residential address and two motor vehicles in Hearst July 1, police said. “The search warrants were obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking from Hearst and into the community of Constance Lake First Nation.” The estimated street value of drugs seized is $130,000. The accused was remanded into custody after a court appearance July 2.
