The investigation into the disappearance of a 25-year-old man continues six months after he went missing, the Comox Valley RCMP says.

Willem Rennie was last seen on April 19th in the Courtenay area.

He was supposed to meet up with a former girlfriend at the Courtenay Exhibition Grounds on Headquarters Road, but never showed up.

His 1999 blue Chevrolet pickup truck was later discovered at the fairgrounds.

Rennie’s family is pleading for the public’s help in finding the man.

“Willem was a father, he loved his son more than words can describe. He was the light of his life,” the family said in a statement. “Please, if you have any information, speak up. Help us find our father, our son, our brother and our friend.”

According to the RCMP, investigators have been able to create a timeline prior to Rennie’s vehicle being found.

“This is an active missing person investigation,” stated Const. Rob Gardner, Media Relations Officer for the Comox Valley RCMP. “We are following up on any and all leads. No matter how small or irrelevant you may think the information is, we are asking those with information to contact us.”

Rennie is described as 5’6”, 130 pounds, has blond hair, blue eyes and a medium build.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP at (250) 338-1321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
