An alleged criminal network in Laval, north of Montreal, was targeted by police last week, leading to several arrests. “The seizures carried out deprived the members of the targeted criminal organization of several million dollars, striking directly at the heart of their funding,” Laval police (SPL) stated. “The results achieved demonstrate the major impact of the operations carried out and attest to the investigators’ ability to effectively disrupt the network’s activities.” The force explained that on July 28, investigators from its organized crime squad carried out the final phase of Project Daurade, first launched in September 2025. “The aim of this operation was to dismantle a criminal network operating in the Laval area and to curb its illicit activities,” police said. The investigation, carried out in four waves, involved searches in Laval, Montreal and the Lanaudière region, “dealing a severe blow to the criminal organization.” The raids comprised numerous residential properties, a commercial building and various vehicles. “This large-scale investigation followed the observation of behaviour associated with drug trafficking and money laundering,” Laval police noted. “The illicit activities identified centred on a restaurant used as a meeting point by the suspects.” The results of the operation included the freezing of three properties with an estimated value of $2.874 million in addition to the seizure of five vehicles as proceeds of crime. Additionally, police say they recovered: The suspects arrested are expected to face a range of charges related to drug trafficking, according to police. The operation was in collaboration with Revenu Québec and the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (RACJ).
