Longueuil police (SPAL) on Montreal’s South Shore is asking anyone who may have had their jewellery stolen by a house cleaner to come forward. The suspect is said to have allegedly mainly target elderly people. Longueuil resident Mélanie Tanguay, 48, appeared in court on Thursday to face charges of theft over $5,000 in relation to incidents at three private residences in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville and Sainte-Julie in recent months. “Investigators have reason to believe that the suspect may have committed further burglaries in homes across the metropolitan area, as well as in certain neighbouring municipalities,” the SPAL said in a news release. Any potential victims are encouraged to call 450-463-7211.
