The family of a missing Port Alberni man made a plea to the public on Friday in the hopes that they’ll get information on his whereabouts.
Trevor Oakley’s family hasn’t heard from the 34-year-old for more than three weeks.
During a press conference Oakley’s mom said she’s concerned about her son.
“He’s always been there for me when I needed help and I said for some reason this month, since the 3rd, I’ve had no contact with him at all,” Karen Bosch said.
The 34-year-old was staying at a Port Alberni shelter and mentioned to others there that he may go see a woman on Gabriola Island.
Police say that never happened.
“We’re always willing to help you and I love you and I just want you or anybody else that knows anything to please contact me if you’re out there Trevor or the police,” Bosch said.
Oakley’s mom added that her son was in good spirits, had a job and a new car.
Police say the last clue they’ve had regarding Oakley’s disappearance was on Jan 20.
That’s when his grey Dodge Neon was found in the 2800-block of 4th Avenue in Port Alberni.
“I’m confident there are people in our community that have some information that can help us find Trevor,” Insp. Brian Hunter said. “That’s my plea here today to find it in your heart, we are a community of heart.”
Oakley is described as Caucasian, 6’, 181 pounds, has short greying dark brown hair, hazel eyes and facial stubble.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Port Alberni RCMP at (250) 723-2424 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
