A London man is facing multiple charges, including sexual assault, after police arrested him in connection with a series of incidents in the city’s south end on June 8. London police say officers responded to several 911 calls between approximately 10:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. reporting erratic behaviour by a man in the area of Dudley Crescent and Millbank Drive. According to police, callers reported the man was following children and engaging in assaultive and sexually assaultive behaviour toward others. Responding officers were given a description of the suspect and later located him in the 900-block of Southdale Road East, where he was arrested. As the investigation continued, officers said they linked the suspect to several earlier incidents that morning. Police allege that at about 8:20 a.m., a woman walking with her children in the 1000-block of Southdale Road was followed by the suspect and assaulted after confronting him. Roughly 50 minutes later, a second woman walking with her children was approached and followed by the suspect. Police allege the man spoke with the woman before assaulting and sexually assaulting her. At approximately 9:40 a.m., a third woman leaving a home on Southdale Road East with a young child noticed the suspect approaching, police said. Investigators allege the suspect spoke with the woman and followed her as she walked toward a nearby school before assaulting and sexually assaulting her near an intersection. Mandella Asouth, 29, of London, has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, three counts of assault and three counts of criminal harassment by repeated following. The accused remains in custody. The investigation has since been reassigned to the London Police Service’s Patrol Operations Investigative Section. Investigators believe there may be additional people who had interactions with the accused, including potential victims who have not yet been identified, and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward. Police are also appealing to anyone who was in the area of Millbank Drive near Southdale Road East or Dudley Crescent between approximately 8:20 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. on June 8. Investigators are seeking information, dash-camera footage and residential or business surveillance video that may assist the investigation. A photograph of the accused has been released in hopes of generating additional information from the public. The charges have not been proven in court.
