Increased police presence in South Bruce as OPP search for man reported as ‘in distress’

Provincial police in South Bruce are warning of an increased police presence as they continue to search for a man who was previously in distress earlier this morning.

According to a news release, South Bruce OPP say that on Tuesday at approximately 2:47 a.m., police responded to a report of a man in distress at a home on Amberly Beach Road.

Police say they are concerned for the man’s safety.

Officers have established containment with the assistance of the OPP Aviation Unit, Canine Unit, and Emergency Response Team (ERT).

As a result, police say residents will notice an increased police presence in the area.

South Bruce OPP is asking residents and business owners in the area to remain vigilant, and to report any suspicious persons to police immediately. Anyone with information that may assist this investigation is asked to contact South Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
