An 86-year-old man was airlifted to a trauma centre in critical condition following a collision involving a pickup truck outside a Stratford shopping mall on Sunday. Stratford Police Service said emergency crews responded to the mall’s front entrance at approximately 11:08 a.m. on Aug. 16. General patrol officers, Stratford Fire Department personnel and Perth County paramedics attended the scene following reports of a serious collision involving a pickup truck and a pedestrian. According to police, the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported from the scene before being airlifted to a trauma centre. Authorities said the mall’s front entrance and the LCBO remained open while the investigation was underway. Police have since cleared the area, but the investigation remains ongoing.
